ESOL Classes
Goal: Our ESOL classes provide a space for individuals to engage with one another, as they learn or improve their command of the English language. In an exchange of cultures and knowledge, students work together to gain more understanding so that they can use the language in their everyday tasks/lives. In the past, our ESOL classes have helped our students within their family life, their job and with socializing. Currently, we offer two levels: Beginners & Intermediate.
Class schedule: Our English classes are twice a week (Mon/Wed, Tue/Thu) and one on Saturdays. The semesters run on a three month basis, which start on these months: January, April, July, October.
Eligibility: Everyone is welcomed to participate. All you have to do is take a placement exam, fill-out a form to register for class & bring proof of address.
Civics Classes
Goal: Our English civics classes help our students prepare for their citizenship interviews or who are at any stage on the process. The class informs students of the structure on the citizenship interview; the rights that they have as permanent residents; and the ones they will gain after becoming citizens. Our civic students are encourage to take an English class to help with the language barrier. Currently, we offer three levels for citizenship classes: Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced.
Class schedule: Our classes run once a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The semesters run on a three month basis, which start on these months: January, April, July, October.
Eligibility: In order to take the class, you must be a permanent resident. On the day of registration, you must bring your green card and social security card. On the day of registration, you will take a placement exam and fill out a form. To be considered, you don’t have to be a previous client in our legal department.
